A visit to Luxembourg City preceded our bike adventure. The city sits high on a rocky outcrop.
One of the most interesting physical features is the underground defensive labyrinth excavated in 1745 called the Casemates du Bock.
Clearly a strategic defensive position.
From the top it is a long way down.
Inside as well as outside!
After wandering around for an hour, it occurred to us that one could easily get lost in this underground maze. How do the people who run this facility know that everyone is out at the end of the day when they close? And if they are not really sure do they leave the lights on in case someone has not exited at closing time?
